Harbour Town Melbourne

January 16, 2013

Today my friend and I decided to go impromptu shopping on her day off work, but because it was such a perfect day, we HAD to be outside. So we decided to go to arguably one of Melbourne's most underrated shopping areas, Harbour Town. Harbour Town is pretty much where the last pieces of clothing they couldn't sell in the sales go to be sold at ridiculously cheap prices. Now don't get me wrong, this does not mean everything is crap, although there is a fair bit of it to sift through in order to get to the good stuff. But there is good stuff.
Watching over the shopping laneways is Melbourne's answer to The London Eye, although not quite as big and, well, broken. A couple of years back we got our own observation wheel, but it only ran for about a month before it had to be closed because it couldn't withstand the Australian heat. Since then, it's been dismantled and is in the process of being put back together. I can't wait til it's done!
I decided this year that I wanted to put more of my fashion on this blog but sometimes I don't feel like I'm very fashionable, and I tend to wear the same things a lot. But today I thought 'what the hey!' and got my friend to take a couple of snaps of me.

One thing I really love about Harbour Town is how deserted it often is. I hate going shopping and having to push through the crowds of people, or getting stuck behind a heap of slow walkers. Most of the time at Harbour Town it isn't busy at all. I don't know why though, it's a great place to shop and still be outside enjoying the beautiful summer day!
We both got some seriously amazing bargains! My friend is coming over tomorrow to take some more photos of me in what I bought. I really hope you enjoy them. I've also got me a DIY project from a necklace that I bought. I'll show you that when I've reinvented it!
