Brisbane Photo Diary | James Street, Fortitude Valley

January 10, 2015

If you've got a bit of cash to spend, James Street in Fortitude Valley is where you'll want to head. Consisting almost entirely of Australian designers, with a few international ones thrown into the mix too, you're sure to pick up something absolutely gorgeous here.

Brisbane Photo Diary | House Of Cards Boutique

January 9, 2015

I've been following the brand House Of Cards for a while now and it's always been one of my favourite Australian designers. I was so excited to visit their only physical boutique which, like the designer, is located in Brisbane.

Brisbane Photo Diary | Australia's First Forever 21

January 8, 2015

When researching things to do in Brisbane (ie. where to shop) I discovered that Australia's very first Forever 21 has opened up at the Queen Street Mall. I have to admit that I thought it was a little bit strange that it's in Brisbane not Sydney or Melbourne (sorry Brisbane), but hey, one more thing to add to my to-do list!

Little Lost Land

October 16, 2014

I've traveled past Little Lost Land so many times on the tram but I've never been inside... until today! Little Lost Land is an adorable vintage-inspired boutique located in the Melbourne suburb of Balaclava (opposite the train station) that stocks a range of Melbourne-designed pieces.

Olive Eyes

September 24, 2014

It's well and truly spring now, however the last few remnants of of winter are holding on. Here's what I wore on a colder spring day shopping in the city. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather so I can get out of these jeans!

Kate Spade Emporium Melbourne

August 17, 2014

Finally Australia has it's very first Kate Spade New York store and, well, it's beautiful. Kate Spade has probably been my favourite accessories designer for the past couple of years now but I can never bring myself to spend that much money online without having a play with the product first. So having this brand new store at Emporium Melbourne means my bank account is going to take a massive blow.

Emporium Melbourne Launch

April 17, 2014

Yesterday was the long awaited launch of Melbourne's newest fashion district The Emporium, which boasts some of the worlds biggest retailers, a lot of which have never had stores in Australia before. As soon as I walked in, it felt like I'd suddenly moved states. The Emporium looks almost exactly like Westfield Sydney with smooth and stylish interiors and plenty of natural light.

H&M Melbourne

April 9, 2014

Brace yourselves, this is going to be a long one. I finally gave in and went to embrace all that the new H&M Melbourne store has to offer. I kept seeing these unbelievable photos on the internet and literally could not wait any longer. I had to wait for about 20mins just to get in to the store, but it was worth it. The store is absolutely gorgeous! They've kept the awe-inspiring architecture of this old building and made it look shiny and new. I don't think Melbourne has any stores that can quite rival the enormity of this store, other than our department stores.

Kara Liu x Belmore Bootmakers

March 28, 2014

Nestled away in the lanes of Melbourne's QV shopping centre is the local designer boutique Belmore Bootmakers who produce locally manufactured leather shoes in a warehouse in Sydney. As part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival cultural program, they've teamed up with another local designer Kara Liu to produce some gorgeous leather loafers. I went along to the launch party the other night with my blogger friend Vulette (Young Red Violets) and her photographer (aka boyfriend) to have a sticky at the new range. My favourite were these baby pink leather loafers that I think would look amazing with spotty socks. I have a bit of an obsession with socks at the moment.

Shop Til You Drop Runway // VAMFF

March 24, 2014

The first show I actually bought tickets to was the Shop Til You Drop runway, or Runway 7 as it's called on the website. I was super excited for this show because it had some of my favourite Australian designers in it. The lineup consisted of Limedrop, Alice McCall, Secret South, Bec & Bridge, MacGraw, Nevenka and Shakuhachi. I did have my DSLR camera this time, however the photos still turned out crap, but I tried to salvage the better ones.

Chapel Street Edition // VAMFF

March 23, 2014

All this week I've been lucky enough to volunteer at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). I've mainly been working front of house, getting to see all the amazing shows, and also seeing some of the craziness that happens backstage. Because I've been working, I couldn't exactly take my DSLR camera around with me everywhere, so I took some sneaky shots with my phone and old crappy camera here and there when I could.

Gusto & Élan Australian Designer's Pop Up Shop

February 13, 2014

It's pretty hard to walk past this amazing dress from Australian designer Susan Rep at Melbourne Central's newest pop up shop without taking a closer look. Expertly curated by Fitzroy boutique Gusto & Élan, you can find this cute little cube of a store outside Gorman. As well as Susan Rep, some of the other designers include ElandTino, Lady Fox Accessories, Mina & Katusha, Empire Of Bees, Divya R, and more.

Socks & Sandals

January 20, 2014

Internet, am I doing it right?

Socks and sandals have been a pretty big fashion no-no for as long as I can remember, however I've noticed a bit of a surge in the popularity of this look thanks to some of the world's biggest fashion bloggers. Now I tend to have a problem with shoes in that if they give me blisters when I buy them, chances are they will always give me blisters. However I've found that this socks and sandals trick might be my answer. The only question is, does it actually look good or is it just wishful thinking?
