Brisbane Photo Diary | James Street, Fortitude Valley

January 10, 2015

If you've got a bit of cash to spend, James Street in Fortitude Valley is where you'll want to head. Consisting almost entirely of Australian designers, with a few international ones thrown into the mix too, you're sure to pick up something absolutely gorgeous here.
We started at St Barts which, yes, isn't an Australian designer, but dang those homewares are beautiful (and expensive). We don't have one of these in Melbourne so I had to have a bit of a sticky beak.
The next designer we came across was Aje, which has recently opened a boutique in Melbourne, but I've never been to it. They had incredible sequined skirts that were absolutely to die for. I mean who doesn't like sequins?
Bowie Bunny!
Blonde Venus stocked some really interesting items by niche designers from all over the world, as well as a few Aussie ones. The furry pom pom accessories were my personal favourite.
Lastly we popped into Easton Pearson, which has boutiques in Brisbane and Sydney but not Melbourne. It reminded me a bit of Gorman. I think it'd do pretty well in Melbourne.
There were also a lot of other great Australian designer stores and cool street art if you looked down the lanes. James Street is very trendy indeed.
