Brisbane is slowly becoming more and more like Melbourne, and I have to say I completely approve. Whilst there I caught up with one of my friends and we checked this little hipster haunt Moose & Gibson.

So Indian Mexican fusion food is a thing. Did you know this? Because I didn't. And they're pretty much my two favourite cuisines, so you can only imagine my excitement when I discovered Indimex in Brisbane.

Whilst in Brisbane we popped into the Ponycat Cafe for breakfast before heading out on our touristing adventures. My friend had heard good things about this place and with a craving for eggs, we decided to give it a go.

South Bank is probably Brisbane's number one tourist spot, so of course we had to go and check it out. I have a bit of a love of ferris wheels so going on the Wheel Of Brisbane was a number one priority.

One of the coolest places I explored in Brisbane has got to be the suburb of West End. It's full of bohemian clothing boutiques and laid-back eateries, wandering around the streets was a delight.

I've had a bit of an obsession with Japan for pretty much all my life now. It's probably stemmed from the fact that I learned Japanese for 10 years of my life and also went on exchange to Japan when I was 15. So this exhibition really tickled my fancy.

If you've got a bit of cash to spend, James Street in Fortitude Valley is where you'll want to head. Consisting almost entirely of Australian designers, with a few international ones thrown into the mix too, you're sure to pick up something absolutely gorgeous here.

I've been following the brand House Of Cards for a while now and it's always been one of my favourite Australian designers. I was so excited to visit their only physical boutique which, like the designer, is located in Brisbane.

When researching things to do in Brisbane (ie. where to shop) I discovered that Australia's very first Forever 21 has opened up at the Queen Street Mall. I have to admit that I thought it was a little bit strange that it's in Brisbane not Sydney or Melbourne (sorry Brisbane), but hey, one more thing to add to my to-do list!

Surprise! I'm in Brisbane! I flew up yesterday morning to surprise my friend Lana on her birthday, and for a bit of a summer vacation. Today we spent most of the day shopping and chillin' in the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens.

Following on from my last post at Mecca Bah, my friend suggested we head to the Eat Street Markets, which has apparently becoming something of an institution in Brisbane. I'm definitely not one to turn down the offer of shopping, so we jumped in the car and headed over 30mins before it was meant to close.

Whilst in Brisbane I didn't get much free time, but when I did, the first thing I did was catch up with my oldest friend. We met when were 5 on our first day at school, and now 17 years later, we're still good friends. I told her that I'd have a night off to go have dinner and that she needs to find a cool, hipster place for me to blog about. She didn't let me down, but because I'm the worst blogger ever, I forgot my DSLR camera and was left using my new iPhone (first world problems).

Over the weekend I flew to Brisbane for work. I love being able to say that. I've been working on an event called Stadium Stomp and our first installment for the year was in Brisbane. However I will be doing a full blog post on that this week. We were only in Brisbane for about 5 days and got half a day free to go explore the city. We were staying at the Marriott Hotel so we were super close to the CBD, Queen Street Mall and Brisbane River.
