Fiorina Boutique 20th Anniversary

April 5, 2014

♫ Listening // Miami Horror - Real Slow (Robotaki Remix)

I recently attended the Fiorina Boutique 20th Anniversary party at their beautiful Armadale store. Here are some of the pics I snapped.

Julia deVille Jewellery | e.g.etal Gallery

October 23, 2013

Melbourne is a great city to explore and tonight we found ourselves down a flight of stairs on Flinders Lane at e.g.etal Gallery for the Julia deVille Jewellery launch. Originally from New Zealand, Julia deVille now resides in Melbourne and is trained in gold and silversmithing. Her current collection is called Can The Voices Of The Living Be Heard By The Dead and features intricate detailing and stones fit for royalty. I particularly loved the tiny gold skull bracelet and, well, ALL of the rings!

Les Nereides Paddington

August 27, 2013

I'm a planner. Right down to the last detail. Some days I plan my life to the minute. So when I was doing my thorough research of shopping in Sydney, I came across this store, which instantly went to the top of my 'must do' list. Les Nereides is a Parisian costume jewellery designer who's store has been open in Paddington, Sydney for almost a year now. But much like other international designers, they don't have a store in Melbourne. Just by looking at the online store, I knew I was going to buy something... but I may have completely blown my budget when I visited the store haha.

EAT.ME.DO At Lenko

June 2, 2013

EAT.ME.DO is an Australian jewellery label that's just launched at Lenko Boutique. With scrumptious looking designs, it was hard to know what was for sale, and what we could eat! There was killer pythons, giant gummy bears and donuts - and that was just the jewellery! We were also treated to some gummy lollies, candy bracelets and lollypops. Check out the vibrant pics from the Lenko launch!

Obdressed with Fashion

May 15, 2013

Fresh from the success of their Ripponlea pop-up store, Obdressed have just launched their permanent boutique on Ormond Rd in Elwood. Obdressed is a quirky, shabby-chic abode filled with fashion and homewares predominantly made by local designers, including owner Liz' own Obdressed label. Her designs consist of beautifully printed silk dresses (image below), silk shirts and tunics, and pants.

The Big Design Market

December 9, 2012

Today saw us back at the Royal Exhibition Building in the Carlton Gardens for another arty/crafty design market. Most of the stalls at The Big Design Market were different to the Finders Keepers market, although I did see some familiar stores, and everything was more homey compared to the last one. There was still definitely an abundance of jewellery but not as much clothing.

November Jewellery Haul

November 9, 2012

Okay so I may not have bought all of these in November, but as I said in a previous post, I'm in the middle of exams so my life is a tad boring right now. I've decided to show you my recent jewellery purchases and tell you where I got them from.

The first item is this gold heart ring with a little cross on it. I'm not normally a fan of wearing crosses because I think they're religious and I'm not religious, but this one wasn't too religious-y (new word) looking.

Finders Keepers

October 21, 2012

Melbourne is full of markets at the moment! However, the Finders Keepers market is easily the biggest I've been to taking up almost all of the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. You could find cute little nic-nacs, clothing, jewellery, accessories, kids things, artwork and much much more. There was also a beautiful selection of live ambient and lounge music, which showcased some of the best up and coming talent in Melbourne. The weather was also absolutely perfect, which was just the cherry on top.

South Melbourne Market

September 13, 2012

I was walking through South Melbourne the other day for a completely unrelated reason and happened to come across the South Melbourne Markets. It's been a while since I've been there and since it was literally across the road, I decided to go revisit it.

Unexpected Pleasures

August 6, 2012

Unexpected Pleasures is a contemporary jewellery exhibition (as the picture says haha) at the National Gallery of Victoria. It has some really artistic and really crazy designs but I suppose that's what happens when you fuse art and functionality. There's not much I can really say about this other that it was a good time filler and I enjoyed looking around. Oh, also it's free.

Whose Wardrobe? My Wardrobe.

July 22, 2012

I've been looking for the perfect market for a while now to sell some second hand clothing which I feel it too good for the opshop. Whose Wardrobe came along last month and I blogged about it when I went along to check it out (click here) but this time I decided to get a stall. Compared to the first time I went, there was about double the amount of clothing and a lot more punters which was a good sign.
