Paris '99

March 17, 2013

When I found out that there was a L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival event in my area I knew I couldn't miss it! And I'm glad I didn't. Paris '99 is a high end designer resale concept store established in 2010 by Yahav Ron. If you're looking for beautiful designer clothes at 80-90% off retail price, this is definitely the place to go!
Yahav started the evening by discussing some of his own eco-friendly, no waste designs and creations and where he gets his inspiration from. He then enlightened us with interesting and quirky stories behind some of the pieces he has in his current collection. This includes the gold Vionnet dress pictured above that was purchased for a gala in New York City but never worn. Only two people have ever tried it on since it's been in his possession, and that's because, well, it's a size 4!
We then sipped cocktails and indulged on chocolate and cheese whilst perusing the other beautiful items in his collection. We especially loved this oversized Lanvin embellished shirt, because who doesn't like a bit of sparkle!
We chatted with the other guests about fashion and life, and took a peak into Yahav's enormous collection of fashion coffee table books. It was a great evening and I'm so glad I now know about Yahav's little fashion abode.
