House of Holland x Sportsgirl

March 22, 2013

If you've been following my blog for a while you may remember my Whitney Eve post where international designer and sweetheart Whitney Port collaborated with Sportsgirl. Well Sportsgirl are at it again with a collaboration with British designer House of Holland. Just as Whitney Port came to visit the land down under, so did Henry Holland. I went along to his in-store appearance at the Bourke St Sportsgirl store this evening for a chat with Henry.
Moderated by Pedestian.TV, Henry gave us an insight into how he started out in the fashion industry interning at Women's Wear Daily and his entertaining encounter with Anna Wintour. He also went over the inspiration behind the Sportsgirl collection explaining his love for granny-chic, geometric quilt and punny shirts (video below).
We were also treated to iced tea and popcorn thanks to Sportsgirl, which was delicious! Henry Holland also mentioned how bloggers have been changing the way fashion is viewed and making it more accessible to people worldwide. Fashion designers are being idolised like pop stars and trends are being watched and commented on like football.

I have to apologise because halfway through filming this video, I realised that there was a smudge on the lens which covered Henry Holland's face for half of it. Thank you to Henry Holland for flying all the way to Australia to have a chat with us and thank you to Sportsgirl for making it happen! I also meet up with Sophia from Everyday Like This and Tori from Soda Style Pop so make sure to check out their blogs!

  1. I also went to see Henry Holland in Sportsgirl but I went to the Pitt St Sydney store.
He's such an amazing designer and I would imagine a cool guy to be around.

How did you find the collection?

    1. Hi Sharon,

Thanks for the comment. I love his collection although it's not something I would probably wear. I wish I could but I can't wear tight clothing. I'll just have to admire it on the racks.
