The Boatbuilders Yard

December 26, 2012

Happy Boxing Day. I've been up since 3.50am because I had to be at work at 5am. It's now about 3:00pm and I feel like I've been awake for a million hours. I managed to get about 6 hours sleep last night so I'm not too tired... yet. I finished work at 10am and decided since I was already amongst the madness of the Boxing Day sales, I may as well stick around.

I met my dad at DFO (Direct Factory Outlets for those who don't know) and we had a little shop. I might do a sales haul blog post some time this week. After our shopping trip we decided to try somewhere new for lunch. I found The Boatbuilders Yard on the Bank Of Melbourne's 'The Quarters' website, which is no longer live, and thought we should give it a try. We both had the same thing (like father like daughter) which was a poached chicken, sun-dried tomato and spinach roll and Charlie's juice.
The Boatbuilders Yard also has a fully stocked bar and lots of other delicious things on the menu from burgers to beer battered flathead, and an extensive breakfast menu. They also have a BBQ which I'm not sure if it was going when we were there but it sounded good. It's located on Southwarf right next to the Yarra River and the Polly Woodside so it's worth visiting just for the view.
This was a bit of a spur of the moment blog so I took all the photos on my phone but I think they turned out okay. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and ate way too much like I did. I'm excited to show you what I got for Christmas and what I got in the sales.

  1. The weather there looks really beautiful there! I just learned what boxing day was the other day; my fiance spent Christmas in Canada with his family and he was telling me all about it. Anyways, all of that food looks way good too! I've never seen sandwiches wrapped in string before haha
