Christmas has officially hit Melbourne and to celebrate the festive season the Gingerbread Village by Epicure Catering is back! Located in Melbourne's City Gallery are some of the major Melbourne landmarks baked out of gingerbready goodness.
As well as landmarks such as the MCG, the Arts Centre and Luna Park, there are also many European style buildings which make you wish we had a white Christmas. All the people and animals are also made out of icing, the penguins being my favourite.
The attention to detail on all the pieces is phenomenal but is particularly impressive on Luna Park. The carousel even spins!
This baking masterpiece is helping to raise money and awareness for the Starlight Children's Foundation and it's free to enter, so make sure to donate some money when you visit. There's also plenty of gingerbread to purchase, as well as gingerbread ice cream which I bought. It was delicious. As I said before, the Gingerbread Village is free to enter and it's open until the 24th of December.
