Rooftop Cinema

December 19, 2012

After climbing up a million flights of stairs you emerge at the top of Curtain House and experience the wonderful view that Melbourne's Rooftop Bar has to offer. We made the hike tonight because it's that time of the year again when the Rooftop Bar is turned into a cinema with the best view in the world. The movie we watched was the comedy classic Zoolander even though I, and everyone else there, had seen it so many time we could quote the whole movie.
Now I couldn't climb up a million flights of stairs to a Rooftop Bar and not get a drink, so I treated myself to a glass of sparkling wine. To rehydrate, you know?
Now take in the view...
Curtain House is located on Swanston Street in Melbourne and is about 5 or 6 storeys high with something different on each level. It is home to the bars/clubs Cookie and The Toff In Town, a cute little book shop and some eclectic clothing stores, and then if you continue up, the Rooftop Bar. I've been right up the top once before a couple of years ago and made the mistake of wearing high heels. Don't wear heels! You will die!
The Rooftop cinema is a great thing to do during summer when it's still, warm night. I was planning to go at the start of the year but injured myself a couple of days before so I couldn't go. Another awesome thing in Melbourne crossed off my to-do list!
