The other day I had the task of walking down Southbank in the search for a venue for an upcoming event. I decided, because Southbank is pretty and I needed some entertainment, that I would do a blog post on it. So here it is. It was a very wet and rainy day and of course I forgot to bring an umbrella. But a little bit of water never hurt anyone so it didn't bother me too much.
Mmmmm delicious brown river. Fairly sure this is the colour of any river running through major cities anywhere in the world. They're just heavily photoshopped in tourism ads.Southbank in Melbourne is probably most famous for Crown Casino, which I generally steer well clear of. There's also an abundance of (fairly pricey) restaurants, which I had to visit, and a lot of clubs, bars and random art.
And in typical Melbourne style, I went into one restaurant for about 10 minutes, and I came out and the weather looked like this! There was barely any evidence that it had been raining except for the ground was still wet. Oh Melbourne.
We didn't end up going with a venue in Southbank because they're too expensive. But it was fun having a little explore anyway.
