Whenever I see the words "shopping night" or "shopping festival," I instantly think free alcohol! The Flinders Lane Shopping Night did not disappoint. However as the name suggests, it's not actually about the free alcohol (although it's a welcome incentive), it's about getting together with friends and taking a little trip down shopping lane. Flinders Lane in Melbourne is known for it tiny boutiques and local designers. Although normally a bit more pricey than your standard high street store, it's definitely worth a look if you're looking for something unique.
We went into a couple of shops but struck bubbly gold when we entered Kinki Gerlinki who were serving sparkling wine to customers. I also had my final exam today so it was nice to celebrate with a bit of free wine, shopping and my friends. I also bought some new sunglasses from Kinki Gerlinki, pictured below, which came in 3 different colours and it took me about 10 minutes to decide which one to get.
Wearing
We then kept wandering when we came across the beautiful store Lady Petrova, where Lana Del Rey got the white lace dress from in her video for Ride. She also bought out all the flower crowns when she toured earlier this year and then proceeded to wear them at every gig. Lady Petrova had cupcakes too. Win.
I also found this. Possibly the greatest pun ever. And my friend also got a diamond painted on his hand. Marina and the Diamonds represent!
On the way back to the train station, we stumbled upon some cool street art too. Well what's a Melbourne post without some street art anyway? Anyway I'm going to go have fun wearing my new sunnies.
