Olympic Spirit

July 28, 2012

I couldn't let the Olympics go past without having a post inspired by it, so I decided to show you some of my photos from my trip to London last year. I took all of these photos, I just went a tad nuts with a new photo editing software called Pixlr-o-matic.
A lot of people have asked me "What was your favourite part of London?" and I could've said the landmarks, or the shopping, but my answer was always the squirrels. Somehow, amongst the migration to Australia, convict ships did not bring us these adorable little animals even though we managed to get every other British animal (foxes, rabbits etc).
Every time I saw a squirrel I reacted exactly the same as Dug, the dog from the movie Up.
One thing that was directly related to the Olympics which was a disappointment was Abbey Road Studios, along with a lot of other landmarks, was completely covered in scaffolding. So I took a photo of the crossing instead.
You know how they say never meet your heroes because they will never live up to your expectations, well London did. Every single bit of it was amazing. Especially the shopping!
One of my other highlights was going on the London Eye and seeing the amazing view of the city from up high. We had to queue for 40 minutes but it was so worth it.
Dear London, one day I will go back and visit you again, until next time, please let all the Australian's win in the Olympics. Love Marlee.
