A Day In The City: Part 2

July 2, 2012

If you haven't read Part 1 click here.

After lunch, we hiked across town to The Carlton on Bourke Street but on the way found a new art installation in the Myer windows in the Bourke Street Mall celebrating the 150th Birthday of the Melbourne Zoo. Each window had a big elephant in it with a variety of masterpieces, one of which was painted by my animal counterpart, Mali.
As the picture says below, from August 10 to September 21 (the day before my birthday woo!) there will be 50 elephants around Melbourne. I'm definitely going to go on a hunt for them when they're out.

(A picture I took last time I was at the Zoo)

Once we had finished admiring the artistic creativity of my favourite elephant, we keep on going to The Carlton to go to a Di$count Univer$e pop up store. What I was unaware of when saying yes to this was that I would have to climb up what seemed like a hundred flights of stairs to get to the top where the shop was.

I was really impressed with the fact that people wear this sort of clothing on a day to day basis because I'd never have the courage to do that. A costume party maybe.

I love finding new and free things to do in Melbourne, especially in Winter when there isn't much to do that doesn't require spending money. To read Part 1 click here.
