From Albuquerque, we set off towards Texas. Our destination was Amarillo. Along the way we stopped off at two really cool locations. The first of which being Santa Fe, USA's second oldest town.
We visited the Loretto Chapel, home to the Miraculous Staircase. The Miraculous
Staircase, which was built sometime between 1877 and
1881, took at least six months to build, and has two 360 degree
turns
with no visible means of support. From there was had a wander through the Spanish-inspired town and chowed down some fajitas.
Not far out of Amarillo, we stopped off at Cadillac Ranch to spray paint some cars. The whole idea of the Ranch is that it is a public art installation created on private land which invites the public to come and contribute. I'd never spray painted before. It's a lot harder than it looks.
That night we stayed at The Big Texan Steak Ranch and, you guessed it, we had steak for dinner. There was also a pool in the shape of Texas. Overall a pretty awesome place!
