Sofar Sounds

November 17, 2013

As one of the musicians pointed out, there's something very powerful about a room full of strangers coming together to really listen to music. And that's exactly what the guys at Sofar Sounds created.

Usually, the Sofar Sounds gigs are performed in the living room of a very kind host, however tonight we found ourselves in The Food Court art space in the Docklands. Of course we didn't know where it was going to be held until the morning of the gig because it's all a big secret until the last minute! Which makes it just that little bit more exciting.
Possibly the best thing about these gigs is that you don't have the distraction of a bar, or other people talking, or people screaming whilst the musician is playing. You get to hear every word and every note, and really immerse yourself in their story.

Of course these gigs aren't exclusive to Melbourne and happen all around the world, so if you're interested in attending, playing or even hosting one of these intimate nights, check out the Sofar Sounds website.
