Stickwork Melbourne

October 26, 2012

So this is in Melbourne at the moment. Is it not the coolest thing you've ever seen in your life? I want it in my backyard so I can make a legit fairy house out of it. This amazing structure is the creation of American artist Patrick Dougherty. Patrick has weaved his arty magic over 200 times around the world. This particular piece too three weeks or 2,000 hours to build.

You can find this particular work of art at Melbourne's Federation Square and is definitely a must-see for locals and tourists alike. Make entirely out of weaved sticks, vines and leaves, this awe inspiring piece would be a great place to sit down and have lunch in or just hang out with friends. Assuming it's not pouring with rain like it was when I visited it.

If you want to find out more, head over to the Federation Square website

  1. Wow, that's the first time I've seen anything like this, made with sticks etc, it's absolutely brilliant. There are some real creative people out there. I wish I could see it in real life too.
