Matcha Mylkbar

April 3, 2016

Your eyes do not deceive you, the food you see is green, and that's because it was served at Melbourne's first matcha based cafe Matcha Mylkbar!
Matcha Mylkbar has only recently opened up on Acland St in St Kilda and serves up an array of plant-based vegan breakfast and lunch dishes most with the use of matcha. If you're unaware of what exactly matcha is, it's a finely ground powder made from green tea #HealthyAF
As soon as you walked in, all you could see was green burgers. How can you say no to a green burger? So guess what I had... the matcha soy chicken burger, and it did actually taste like chicken. I also added some sweet potato fries into my burger because who doesn't like a chip butty?
My friend went with the matcha pancakes which were equally as green, served with scrumptiously creamy vegan ice cream. Okay so confession time, I asked the guys next to us if I could take a photo of their smoothie, which they kindly agreed to. I saw the colour of it and knew I needed to feature this vibrant dragon fruit smoothie.
I'm definitely going to be working my way through the menu until I've tried everything. If you're in St Kilda, you need to give Matcha Mylkbar a try! #AnimalsAreFriendsNotFood #GreenWithEnvy
