Sometimes the best places to explore are in your own backyard. So in honor of this philosophy, we spent all Sunday afternoon gallivanting around the Dandenong Ranges in search of adventure.
Our first stop was the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens, which made us feel instantly like we were in a secret garden wonderland. The gardens are the once holiday residence of Alfred Nicholas who discover and invented Aspirin. This once private residence is now open to the public free of charge for all to explore!
We hopped back in the car and drove a little bit further up the mountain until we hit Sassafras. After my visit to Sassafras last year, I knew we had to stop off at Tea Leaves, an incredible tea shop on the main shopping strip. Just look at those amazing teapots!
We stopped for lunch at Ripe cafe, which had delicious vegan options and incredible almond milk lattes, and then went for a wander through a few of the shops.
With only a few hours up our sleeves and still so many places to visit, we jumped back in the car and headed further up the mountain! Stay tuned for PART 2!
