Blogger Meet-Up at Double Happiness

August 29, 2013

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The best thing about blogging is meeting other bloggers and making new friends. So when there's a blogger meet-up, I make an effort to attend. Not only is it a fun night out, but it's good to get out of your comfort zone every now and then and socialise with new people. Tonight we were invited by Nuffnang to come hang at Double Happiness, a bar in Melbourne. Lured in by the prospects of free cocktails, I met some great new people, including Madeleine from Madeleine in Wonderland.
The first cocktail I had was a called Hundred Flowers Movement. It has Sake, rose syrup, lemon and peach bitters in it, and it was definitely my favourite drink there!
The second drink I had was an alcohol Lychee vodka and apple flavoured Bubble Cup. It too was delicious, but the little pearl things at the bottom were really strange. Not necessarily in a bad way, but still strange. When you bit into them, they seemed to explode in your mouth!
Thanks Double Happiness and Nuffnang for a fun night and some new blog friends!

  1. Yum! I had a Hundred Flowers Movement and it was so refreshing but my favourite was the October Revolution!

I loved the kitchy feel of the bar and the REAL wood fire - so cozy after the cold rainy day we had.

Wish we had a chance to chat but hopefully there'll be some other fun blogger events soon and we can chat. Otherwise if you're over Caulfield/Chadstone side of town let me know and we can grab a coffee. ^_^

  3. You took some great photos! I really need a camera to take places :) I thought the bubble tea was so random and awesome at the same time!
Thanks for making my first blog meet up not so scary! Was lovely meeting you :)
