This week I have taken on the role as the Volunteer Coordinator for the St Kilda Festival. So far it's been great fun because I've got to hang out with a whole bunch of awesome volunteers and spend my days in sunny St Kilda.
The first day was the Yalukit Wilum Ngargee Indigenous arts and music festival. It was a very long day but the entertainment was amazing and it was so great to see so much of the Aboriginal culture celebrated in such a communal way. Yalukit Wilum Ngargee is Aboriginal for People Place Gathering, and the festival certainly lived up to it's name.
This is my cosy little house for the next week. If you're in St Kilda, feel free to come and say hi! Yesterday I also made some feathery friends which were adorable, but it was a bit sad seeing them tied up.
If you're interested in going to the St Kilda Festival, you can check out the website. There is free live music all week and a massive free festival next Sunday the 10th!
