Big Day Out 2014

January 27, 2014

Not much can beat the feeling of being part of a crowd of several thousand people all singing along to classic 90s rock, but we'll come back to that later. It's been 4 years since I've been to the Big Day Out, and the first time I went in 2010 was my first ever festival. I didn't get let loose into the festival until 2.30pm because I decided to volunteer in the morning, but my shift finished right in the middle of Tame Impala's set so I rushed over there to hear the rest of it. Tame Impala are definitely one of my favourite bands to see live. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it, you won't regret it.

Summer Of Prosecco

January 23, 2014

"I feel like we're in Sex & The City," Vulette said to me as we sat down and dusted the sand off our shoes. After experiencing all that the Brown Brothers winery has to offer last year at their Hidden Vineyard event, I knew there was no turning this one down. We were invited to a secret Richmond location to sip on some of their delicious Prosecco, which incidentally, is my favourite drink. When we arrived the floor was covered in sand and the whole space was decked out with beach cabana decor.

Socks & Sandals

January 20, 2014

Internet, am I doing it right?

Socks and sandals have been a pretty big fashion no-no for as long as I can remember, however I've noticed a bit of a surge in the popularity of this look thanks to some of the world's biggest fashion bloggers. Now I tend to have a problem with shoes in that if they give me blisters when I buy them, chances are they will always give me blisters. However I've found that this socks and sandals trick might be my answer. The only question is, does it actually look good or is it just wishful thinking?

The Jezabels | The Brink | Interview

January 13, 2014

When I was first asked to do an interview with The Jezabels, I wasn't sure if I would do it or not. Not because of them, but because I've only ever done interviews via email and actually talking to someone seemed so daunting. However in the spirit of getting out of your comfort zone, and the fact that I'd be an idiot to turn it down, I said yes. So a couple of weeks ago I nervously sat by my phone waiting for Heather (Piano, Keyboard) to give me a buzz. Here's what happened...

What are some of the themes and influences for your new album The Brink?
It’s a bit of a dramatic title The Brink, it was a very challenging year for us to move to London and be writing through the coldest winter we’ve ever experienced. There was a feeling of living on the edge and really trying to find your feet, not really knowing what we were doing and working towards. A lot of challenged cropped up along the way, adjusting to a new place.

Don't Tell Me Our Youth Is Running Out

Happy new year everyone! I hope everyone had a memorable night. My night consisted of sparkling wine, Midori and strawberries. Yum! I just hung with some friends at a place my friend is house-sitting at the moment.
