Okay! Hi! I am Abby, and I volunteer with Marlee. My cousin (Josh) and I, for reasons that remain unclear to me, decided to travel to Dungog, which is 3 and a half hours away from Sydney to see Mumford and Sons on their Gentlemen of the Road tour.
This is where, alongside the tour of national cities they do, they go to little tiny towns to give a big old performance.
There was a 15 minute walk through the towns main (only) street, and on the day of the festival there was a cool little patriotic horse ride through the thoroughfare!
I used a disposable kodak camera, which was somewhat a shame because the photos of Mumford and Sons and Edwarde Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes (who also played) are not great because they were at night.
The highlight of the festival was when Edware Sharpe and Mumford and Sons all came onto the stage at the end and played The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. They are one my favorite bands and seeing 20 or so people perform it in the middle of nowhere was pretty special. The venue was the Dungog football stadium, which is actually surrounded by really gorgeous hillside. It was a 40 degree day and everything was lit really beautifully.
So this is a photo as we left, the last photo I took. Its of the James Theatre, which is the site of the Dungog Film Festival each year, which is pretty prestigious. Hugo Weaving actually owns a property there.
