Big Day Out 2014

January 27, 2014

Not much can beat the feeling of being part of a crowd of several thousand people all singing along to classic 90s rock, but we'll come back to that later. It's been 4 years since I've been to the Big Day Out, and the first time I went in 2010 was my first ever festival. I didn't get let loose into the festival until 2.30pm because I decided to volunteer in the morning, but my shift finished right in the middle of Tame Impala's set so I rushed over there to hear the rest of it. Tame Impala are definitely one of my favourite bands to see live. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it, you won't regret it.

Groovin The Moo 2013

May 5, 2013

It seems like I'm at a music festival every weekend. Okay not quite, but after a 2 hour drive we finally arrived in Bendigo, the biggest town in regional Victoria, for Groovin The Moo. My blog post on Groovin The Moo 2012 was one of the first posts I did, which means I've been blogging continuously for over a year now. How time flies!

Mixtape // Top 10 Songs of 2012

December 31, 2012

As 2012 comes to a close, I thought I'd share with you my top 10 songs of the year. I am a self-confessed music-a-holic and love nothing more than sharing what I've been listening to.

10. Esmerelda - Ben Howard

I discovered Ben Howard this year and instantly fell in love with his voice. Esmerelda the first single off his 2012 EP Burgh Island. The song is very raw and not overproduced and I love it for that. It's a little bit dark too and always reminds me of an emotional video montage scene in a movie.

Parklife

October 7, 2012

Parklife has got to be one of my favourite events of the year. I'm fairly sure I've said that before. This year I was working at it scanning tickets and helping out in the cloakroom. Not necessarily exciting stuff but I love working in a festival environment. Unfortunately Melbourne was completely temperamental weather-wise with rain most of the day. That didn't stop most people.

Parklife Set Up

October 2, 2012

Today instead of being a good little uni student and doing my assignments, I spent the whole day at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. I was giving up my time to help set up Parklife. It was fairly laborious and my hands are very sore, but I got a free ticket out of it so it was kind of worth it.
