The White Night Festival had a lot to live up to last night. Between the advertising and word of mouth, everyone thought it was going to be a history making event. And it was, but maybe not for the reasons we were all hoping for. To me White Night was meant to be a cultural celebration of music, art, cinema, light and theatre but it seemed to turn into one massive booze-filled street party. I think the City massively underestimated how many people were going to come in for this event.

I wanted to give you a heads up that String Of Events may be a little slow over the next couple of weeks. It's the end of uni and exam time so I'm going to have my head down studying. Well that's the plan anyway. I also wanted to tell you that I'm going to start posting my 'music of the week' over on the String Of Events Facebook page. I've made it fairly obvious that music is a big part of my life, so if you want to know what's flowing through my headphones, go check it out and 'like.'
I leave you now with a selection of Instagram photos from the past couple of months.

Each year in June "The Light In Winter" is exhibited at Federation Square in Melbourne to celebrate winter and the magic it brings. It aims to bring together the creative brilliance in Melbourne to create a whimsical art piece for everyone to see. This year there was a illuminated see saw with the light following the lowest point of the seat. There's a video further down of us discovering this.
