The Queen Victoria Night Market has become somewhat of an institution in Melbourne for not only tourists, but locals as well. Located on the outskirts of the CBD, it's the perfect place for after-work hangs or showing off this amazing city (which is what I was doing).
Let's start with the food (oh the food!). Being the new vegan that I am, I was unsure as to what options I would have, but I was pleasantly surprised that I actually had a lot to choose from! I decided to go for a mushroom burger from The Little Mushroom Co. It was to die for! I've since been looking up where else I can buy food from The Little Mushroom Co. They also do vegetarian mushroom burgers with halloumi cheese.
Right next door was another vegetarian/vegan option Rice and Dice where my friend, who's a coeliac, bought her dinner from. She had the Slumdog Masala and loved it. Even though my burger was amazing, I still had a bit of food envy too.
We then went for a good old stroll through the markets, temped by almost every stall!
To finish off the night a few of us got temporary tattoos and matching henna tattoos, because why not! I'd never had a henna tattoo so jumped at the opportunity when I saw the stall. If you haven't been to the Queen Victoria Night Markets (um... why not?!), they're on every Wednesday night from 5pm - 10pm until March 30th 2016.
