It's crazy how you can live in a city for your entire life and not know an entire street exists. This is exactly what happened to me. I did not know Postal Ln was a thing and discovering it meant discovering more delicious places to eat in Melbourne.
My friend, who is actually from San Fransisco not Melbourne, took me to this amazing Vietnamese restaurant next to the Melbourne GPO called Mama's Buoi. Foodies in Melbourne would definitely already know about this place and yet somehow I had no idea it existed.
It was pretty difficult to decide what to have, everything sounded so delicious! My friend decided on the beef pho, we split a plate of vegetarian spring rolls, and I had the coconut tamarind curry. It did not disappoint. The servings were also perfectly sized and we were stuffed by the end.
Mama's Buoi is right in the middle of the Melbourne CBD, but down the secluded Postal Ln, it doesn't feel like it at all. It's a great place for a casual lunch and gossip sesh, and perfectly located for a cheeky shop afterwards to walk off the curry.
