New York City: Part 1

October 25, 2015

There really is nothing quite like New York City. It is the city of all cities, and three days there definitely was not enough. However we made the most of our time and packed in as much as we possibly could.
We started off with a pretty in-depth city tour covering off most of the major landmarks. Driving past the Chrysler Building on our way to the Rockefeller Centre, Magnolia Bakery, Radio City Music Hall and Grand Central Station. BTW the whispers hall is real ;)
Definitely the most emotional place we visited was ground zero. I think we all remember where we were on September 11th 2001 and actually standing where the buildings once stood was incredibly powerful and made it feel more real than any news report ever could.
In the afternoon we went on a helicopter ride around New York City. It was hands down the best way to see New York and a view I will never forget. It really puts into perspective how huge this city really is.
We ended the day with a visit to the top of the Empire State Building at about 11:30pm and didn't leave until about 1am. With a view like this, there was no leaving early. It was also the perfect way to end this hectic and exciting day.
