The WWI Centenary Exhibition | Melbourne Museum

April 25, 2015

The WW1 Centenary Exhibition, at Melbourne Museum, opened in April 2015 to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War. This is the most historical and significant exhibition from Imperial War Museums (London) to ever leave Great Britain and visit our shores.
As today is ANZAC Day, I wanted to show a handful of the over 350 artifacts that have been brought over for this exhibition. As well as these pieces, the curators have put together beautiful and fascinating digital creations that tell the stories from WWI in the words of the men and women who experienced it.
We were lucky enough to have a guided tour from one of the IWM curators and it really helped bring the whole exhibition together. I would recommend picking up an audio-tour before you head in. The WWI Centenary Exhibition is now on at the Melbourne Museum, and will be open until October. You can buy tickets online here, or at the door.
