Pho24 on the Upper West Side

November 23, 2014

I've been a bit of a foodie this month, which is fine with me. It's also Melbourne Good Food Month so there definitely isn't a shortage of delicious food to chow down on. This time we were at Vietnamese street-food style restaurant Pho24.
We were greeted with an assortment of rice paper rolls cut up California roll style, filled with chicken, pork and barramundi. A couple of them were topped with chilli satay sauce which I could've devoured by the spoonful!
The first dish presented to us was a baby octopus salad. I've never eaten octopus before because, well, the tentacles kind of creep me out a bit but I knew I had to try everything. I'm so glad I did because it ended up being my favourite dish! There was quite a bit of chilli in it which gave it a kick and the octopus was yummier than I expected.
We were also given a slightly tailored version of the Vietnamese Pork Bahn Mi, Slow Cooked Pulled Pork Steamed Buns and Prawn Spring Rolls. The night was topped off with a Pho dish of course! We had the choice of Beef Scotch Fillet, Poached Chicken and Silken Tofu.

I've never had Pho before so I don't have much to compare it with but I loved it. The beef was tender and melted in your mouth and I piled the chillies on!
Thanks Pho24 for having us. They're definitely a great addition to Melbourne's Upper West Side.
