Maru Koala & Animal Park

January 26, 2016

Happy Australia Day! What better way to celebrate than to listen to the Triple J Hottest 100 and look at pictures of cute Aussie animals!
Maru Koala & Animal Park is located along the southern coast of Victoria, about half an hour before you hit Phillip Island if you're driving from Melbourne. As we entered the park, it was reptile display time so the first thing we got to do was pat this adorable little snake! And yes, I think snakes are cute, obvs don't want poisonous ones near me, but this little guy was totally chill.
You can never get sick of Australian animals, or any animals for that matter. I've seen thousands of kangaroos in my lifetime but I think this is the first time I've ever seen this little albino mate. He was super friendly... a bit too friendly once I whipped out my container of feed I bought when we entered.
As much as I have love for all animals, this little guy (below) really stole my heart. He's so little! I just wanted to give him a hug. Look at that little face and the pointy ears!
If you've got a spare day and you're looking for a day trip out of Melbourne, definitely check out the Maru Koala & Animal Park. It's a great place to take the kids or friends from overseas for a healthy dose of Aussie cuteness!
