Lacoste have never really been a brand that has particularly caught my eye, but hot damn I am loving their Spring/Summer 2014 collection!
Lacoste are the latest edition to Melbourne's Emporium and the launch gave us the chance to have a bit of a play with their new range. I didn't know anyone at the launch so this kind of forced me to make friends and network. I got chatting to the store manager Todd about that one time he was on The Real Housewives of Melbourne (yes this is a thing) and how much he loves playing with the clothes.
I really didn't know much about the inception of the brand so chatting with the Lacoste Visual Merchandising Manager was really interesting. If you're unaware (as I was) Lacoste came about in the 1930s when tennis player René "the Crocodile" Lacoste decided he needed more comfortable clothing to play tennis in, but still stylish enough (i.e collared) to be accepted by the tennis clubs. Long story short, Lacoste was created! Of course there's a bit more to the story than that, but as a student of the Royal Academy of Google, I'm sure you can find out more detail if you want.
Of course a party isn't a party without a photobooth! And who doesn't want photos of them basically falling off a building? I call the second one "What of it?"
Thanks to Lacoste, Emporium Melbourne and True Alliance PR, and all the wonderful people I got to chat to.
