I feel a bit embarrassed putting up this post because the pictures are so damn awful.
On the weekend I worked at a brand new Australian music festival called Listen Out. You may recall me working at Parklife the past couple of years, which was one of my favourite Australian festivals, but due to poor ticket sales, it was cancelled. Listen Out is it's replacement. It was much smaller than Parklife, but it did feel a bit like a giant outdoor party rather than a music festival. However, in saying that, working there was a lot of fun.

I was just at the front gate scanning tickets and chatting to people, which isn't a terrible way to spend a day. I was hoping to get a lunch/dinner break during the daylight hours so I could take some awesome photos for a blog post, but not everything in life goes as you planned. I ended up taking a couple on my way out after my shift. Also, I didn't have my brand spanking new DSLR with me.
One thing I really did want to see at Listen Out was this awesome projection art installation which my friend helped create along with his group members at uni. It was really great to see people enjoying it rather than being destructive.
I've been considering writing a festival advice blog post with all the things I've learnt over the years, but from this festival I think the biggest lesson is read the terms and conditions on the ticket. I saw so many expensive bottles of perfume and makeup being confiscated because they were in glass bottles. I'm hoping that this festival expands into something along the lines of Parklife. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
